Home Theater in the Spotlight

by Sam Cavitt |

A recurring theme of my ramblings has been some version of “what can we in the private cinema industry do to attract the attention of the public?”  Oh sure, everyone knows about home theater in one form or another, but how can we get the message out about what we really offer?  Well, it seems that circumstances entirely out of our control have led many on a search for alternatives to “going out to the movies”.  The good news is that private cinema could be seen as a superior and immediately available alternative.  The bad news is that, if both the public and the private cinema industry do not act fast, this whole scenario could be a music industry crash redux (think 1999 – 2014).

I hope you enjoy this article and it spurs many of us to action, doing what we can to keep the excitement of the cinematic experience alive and the quality of that experience high, both at home and ultimately back in the public theaters. And in the art form itself, inspiring the film industry to push the art to continue producing works that will be worthy of extraordinary private cinemas and premium public cinemas!

See you at the movies!
